Somehow that constellation seems to break OpenGL rendering on the external monitor. I have had this issue for a long time and finally found a fix that seems to work…įor some reason the NVIDIA Control Panel does not show both monitors, but only the internal monitor which leads the Intel HD Graphics to manage the external monitor. Intel HD Graphics 630 & NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Tested on KiCad v5 and v6 on Windows 11, (secondary monitor is a U28E590 connected via HDMI) BIOS: -Found only the option to choose between Integrated and Integrated+Dedicated. Uninstalled and Reinstalled Current Versions Intel and NVIDIA Graphics Software. Software Installation: -Installed Lenovo outdated Intel and NVIDIA drivers. If you want to use the integrated graphics card, select Integrated Graphics. Windows Control Panel: -Set power management to High Performance. Select the preferred graphics processor in the drop-down list. I am now able to select my nvidia gpu as default. Then do a search for the drivers and manually download them but do not download the experience software (choose custom install to uncheck the option). Select the program you want to choose a graphics card for from the drop-down list. I think I finally found the solution: uninstall all the nvidia drivers, > everything nvidia including the nvidia experience software and restart. On accelerated graphics mode content freezes when moved to the secondary monitor and when changing back to fallback mode everything is working as intended. Under 3D Settings select Manage 3D Settings. Accelerated graphics not working on secondary monitorĪffected modules: eeschema, pcbnew, 3D-viewer
